the press recognizes metalteco in puerto antioquia!.
Metalteco is building the metal-mechanical works (machinery, metal structures, electrical works, automation and software) for the dry bulk terminal of Puerto Antioquia in the Gulf of Urabá.
We share with all our digital community, this article published in Vanguardia. We are very proud to be one of the Santander companies that are part of this great project that contributes to the development of our country.
According to Vanguardia: «The construction of Puerto Antioquia, located in Urabá, Colombia's new foreign trade exchange point, is progressing at 35 % and is expected to be ready in the first half of 2025, with the aim of expanding the portfolio of economic activities between exports and imports. The goal is to reduce logistics costs by up to US$140 million».
Vanguardia also reports that the Santander-based company Metalteco, as part of the MIIT Consortium (formed together with Inacar), is participating in this mega-project. It is in charge of building the metal-mechanical works of the port's dry bulk terminal, which include machinery, metallic structures, electrical works, automation and software.
“As contractors chosen for the construction of this terminal, Metalteco has been responsible for the design of the port's dry bulk handling master plan, which includes systems for the receipt, transportation, storage and dispatch of cereals of vital importance for the production of balanced feed in the Colombian industry, a priority link in the nation's food chain,” said Edgar Marín, our Marketing Director, to Vanguardia.
